Understanding Poverty Workshop

Join us for this free, interactive workshop, taught by Whatcom Dream Director Trudy Shuravloff. This will provide:
- a deeper understanding of the experience and perspectives of those living in situational or generational poverty
- an opportunity to grow in empathy and to improve your ability to help work out compassionate solutions and effective ways to bridge gaps

Financial Empowerment for Young Adults
Free 5 session course: Saturdays, February 1 – March 1, 1:00 – 2:00 pm CAP Center, 508 G Street, Blaine
This course, designed specifically for young adults, ages 16 – 20 years old, will teach the basics of good money management, with a focus on topics especially relevant to that age group, including:
- Managing money
- Buying a car, insurance, and maintenance
- Renting a place to live
- Building credit; credit scores and reports
- Saving and investing
- Taxes and more
